Klaas Jans Santing was born around 1710 in Zuidwolde (province of Drenthe, the Netherlands). Between 1815 and 1817, his grandson Jan Geerts SANTING, who lived in De Sloot (Hoogeveen), changed his name into Jan Geerts HAAR.
